who is SKOPE? SKOPE Industries Limited, based in Christchurch, New Zealand, is a family-owned private company at the forefront of manufacturing excellence. When choosing your heater consider the following: • Use the correct size of heater for the area concerned. A heater that is too small has to work harder increasing running costs. The larger the area the greater the kilowatts required. (See quick guide to calculating heat requirements above) • Ceiling height i.e. the SKOPE guide assumes standard ceiling height of 2.4m • Layout of home eg, connecting rooms, open-plan areas • If building, cover heating decisions during initial stages of planning and design • When renovating there may be some restrictions on heating decisions • Features that will enable you to maintain required temperatures with minimum energy usage: – Thermostats: maintain even temperature and conserve electricity while heat selectors allow heat regulation – Fans: warm a room quickly, distributing air more evenly – Timers: control hours of operation – Countdown timers: a useful economy measure for commercial rooms with limited occupancy such as cafeterias, motels and classrooms. Heat-saving measures: • At night cover windows with curtains or blinds • Consider double-glazing insulation • Ceiling and wall insulation keeps heat in • Quality floor coverings and/or insulated concrete floors will also reduce heat losses Safety All SKOPE products are subjected to rigorous in-house design and testing procedures and include many safety features: • International electrical product compliance approvals • International product safety criteria • A safety cut-out switch turns the heater off in unsafe situations and resets when the heater has cooled down.
